Embark on a Culinary Adventure in Prague

Many guidebooks speak solely of Prague’s hearty, carnivorous, traditional fare, relaying only outdated information about our city’s bursting food scene. We’re here to show you otherwise. Step outside the city centre and get to know Prague the best way we can think of: through your belly. We’ll taste everything from traditional to inventive, including a Michelin Bib Gourmand honouree.

How taking this tour will benefit the local community: All the bars, restaurants, and beer halls we visit are 100% owned and run by local Czechs. As we’re in a small group of no more than 10 people, we don’t disrupt local life. By taking our guests to off-the-beaten-path locations, we support businesses that usually would not be visited by travellers.

Whirlwind Tour of Czech Food, Drink, and Cultural Scene

We’ll start things out right in a brand-new restaurant with a modern take on Czech cuisine. A short walk through an up-and-coming neighbourhood in Prague will show us that even the parts outside the centre are well worth exploring and learning about. I’m sure you’ll be ready for some more food after the stroll!

No worries, before long we’ll be sitting in a modern bistro, enjoying a locally brewed craft beer paired with some delish pulled pork. We might even peek into the brewery next door. This is a great place to learn a bit about the history of the region and how seriously we take our beer.

Eat Like a Local in Prague’s Hidden Foodie Hotspots

Continuing along the old dusty path (possibly literally), we’ll have ourselves a quick digestif from a family-owned, all-natural distillery whose plums come from the environmentally protected region of the White Carpathians — a real taste of our Moravia region.

Our next place is a mere stone’s throw away and we don’t want to keep it waiting. This restaurant/bakery was awarded the Bib Gourmand in the 2017 Michelin Guide and for a good reason! With a focus on homemade and homegrown, this place is a paradise for your tastebuds. They play with fermentation, wood-fired baking, and roasting, as well as natural foods and herbs. Sounds intriguing? Wait until you taste it!

Don’t Forget the Dessert…

We’ll make a quick stop at one of the best bakeries in the nighbourhood to pick up some koláče. You might’ve heard of this popular Czech pastry, but believe me, you’ve never tasted ones like these before! Just give it a minute until we find a proper spot to eat them…

Found it! These former military barracks have been transformed into a cultural space and possibly the coolest place in town. Let’s enjoy our long-awaited desert in the spacious courtyard, along with some delicious coffee from a hip local café. That’s also where we part ways, giving you many recommendations for the rest of your stay in our charming city.

Fantastic food tour in Prague Anna T.

Fantastic tour, I really recommend this tour if you like food and want to experience Prague by foot. Míša was the perfect guide, with excellent food and interesting facts about Prague. With a group of 11 people with different tastes - we were all very happy with the venues that we visited. Since I like craft beer it was an extra bonus to visit a micro brewery.

Five stars are not enough! Sandra W.

We enjoyed a Food by Foot tour with Nikola in Prague and cannot speak more highly of this delightful experience. We were greeted by Nikola and enjoyed a thoughtfully curated tour of some of Prague's best keep secrets. The tour involved a nice selection of eateries each offering an amazing selection of foods and beverages. Nikola did a fantastic job of giving us background, history and relevance of each location. Five stars are not enough to give Nikola and this experience it's due. We highly recommend you sign up for this tour and promise you won't regret it, but you might regret it if you miss out. Thank you for a great experience!

A wonderful walk on the Prague locals side to try different restaurants, food dishes & beers David W.

Tried several local food dishes at five different local restaurants (Beef broth with dumpling, pulled pork with roasted vegetables, chicken demi sauce, leaf salad, fermented potato pancakes, baked vegetable, potatoes in ash and colacek) and several beers (pilsner urquell, Mistni craft beer, Dalesicka 11 beer, fermented pear limonade and coffee). It was a special way to spend an afternoon.

So much more than just a food tour! Lauren S.

Our guide Joanna was such a delight and gave us the best experience on our first day! We got to try such a fun variety of food - some of the Czech staples as well as some local favorites. Joanna made us feel like we were really "in the know" by the time our tour ended. The food tour turned out to be so much more than that - it was truly an all-encompassing Prague experience! Our time with Joanna was honestly one of the highlights of our trip - I'd love to take another tour with her if I find myself back in Prague in the future.

You better come hungry to this tour! Sheridan

Johanka is a FANTASTIC guide. She knew so many unique facts and stories that I would have never known and had us try so many unique dishes that we probably wouldn't have tried if we tried to explore on our own. She was very personable and really made the whole experience very special. I learned so much about the history and culture of Prague and ate so much food I was insanely full, I couldn't have asked for a better guide!
