If you want a real Prague evening without gambling on which pub is worth it, this private tour hands you the whole night.Prague is a beer city, and it is surprisingly easy to drink badly here. The pubs closest to Old Town Square have menus in four languages, a line at the door and the same lager on tap as the one next to it. The places Czechs actually go are a few tram stops away, in neighborhoods most visitors never have a reason to walk into, behind doors with nothing written on them in English.
This private tour takes you to three of them. Over three and a half hours, a guide who knows beer properly pours you four different Czech beers — well past pilsner — with three plates of the bar food that belongs beside them. We move between neighborhoods by tram and metro, tickets included, and your guide orders at every stop, explains what’s in front of you, and settles the bill.
Every guide builds their own route from bars they drink in themselves, so this isn’t a script — it’s an evening with someone showing you their Prague. You don’t need to know anything about beer. Say what you usually like, or what you don’t, and your guide will find you the Czech version of it. When you’ve had enough, we’ll get you back to your hotel — or leave you somewhere good, if the night still has something in it.
All the bars, restaurants, and beer halls we visit are 100% owned and run by local Czechs. As we’re in a small private group, we don’t disrupt local life. By taking our guests to off-the-beaten-path locations, we support businesses that usually would not be visited by travelers.
We’ll pick you up in the lobby of your centrally located hotel or apartment. Please let us know where you’re staying when booking.
We can bring you back to your hotel or leave you in the city center, where you can continue on your own.
Your guide meets you in your hotel lobby at the time you picked — 1, 4 or 5 pm. From there we take a tram or the metro out of the center, usually toward Vinohrady, Žižkov or the quieter edges of New Town, and the first bar is a short walk from the stop.
At each of the three venues you’ll try a beer or two, with a plate of Czech beer snacks alongside — pickled cheese with onion and bread, sausage, something smoked. Your guide orders, tells you what’s in the glass, and settles the bill including the tip, so nothing interrupts the evening.
The walks between bars are ten or fifteen minutes, and they’re where you see the Prague that doesn’t make the guidebooks — depending on your guide’s route, a 1930s church that looks like nothing else in Europe, the television tower with the babies climbing it, or the park where half the city drinks in summer. At the end we’ll bring you back to your hotel, or leave you at the last stop if you’d rather keep going.

The world’s first pilsner was brewed in 1842 in Plzeň, west of Prague. If that story stays with you over the second beer, our day trip to Pilsen takes you to the brewery where it happened.

This isn’t your average pilsner pub crawl — we’ll take you on a tasting journey through Prague’s craft beer scene, featuring microbrews, seasonal specials, and lesser-known styles beyond the classic Czech lager. Alongside the beers, you’ll sample a variety of traditional Czech “beer snacks” — think pickled sausages, marinated cheese, smoked meats, and hearty bites locals swear by. It’s not a full dinner, but you’ll leave more than satisfied.
We do our best to accommodate most needs, including vegetarian, gluten-free, and minor food allergies. Just let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly. That said, we’re unable to accommodate vegan diets or full lactose intolerance, as Czech beer snacks often include dairy and meat, and alternatives are very limited.
Brace yourself, because there’s a lot of food! We’ll stop at multiple locations with plenty of tastings at each one. By the end of the tour, you’ll be more than full and ready for bed.
We generally don’t recommend this tour for children, as it focuses heavily on beer and pub culture. However, if you’re traveling with teenagers, they’re welcome to join — we’ll provide non-alcoholic options so they can still enjoy the food and experience. Just give us a heads-up when booking.
