A Private Prague City Tour That Covers It All in One Day

Prague’s best-known sights are not in one place. The Old Town, Charles Bridge, the Lesser Town and the Castle sit on both sides of the river, and working out how to link them in a single day takes more planning than most visitors expect.

This private tour does that planning for you. Over five hours, a local guide walks you through all four, in an order that makes sense on foot, with tram tickets covered and a traditional Czech lunch booked in the middle.

You see the whole historic centre without backtracking, hear the stories that hold it together, and sit down for a proper meal partway through. One day, the complete picture, and nothing left for you to arrange.

What You'll See & Experience

This tour is a great fit if you…

  • have one day in Prague and want to see the whole historic centre
  • would rather follow a local than work out the route between sights yourself
  • want the walking, the transport and the lunch already arranged
  • prefer a guide who answers your questions over a large group following a flag
  • are booking for clients, family or friends visiting Prague for the first time

Prague City Tour Through Famous Landmarks & Hidden Gems

See the city through the eyes of a passionate local guide on this walking tour of Prague. While the city is famous for its must-see attractions, there’s so much more to uncover beyond the guidebook highlights. This experience blends iconic Prague sights with lesser-known corners, giving you a deeper connection to the city’s history, culture, and everyday life. Together we’ll explore the Old Town, cross the Vltava to the Lesser Town, and make our way to the Prague Castle complex, all while discovering the hidden gems that bring the city to life.

Wander the Streets of Prague’s Old Town

Our walk begins among the cobbled lanes of the Old Town, where centuries of history unfold at every step. As you stroll past Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque masterpieces, you’ll quickly see why Prague is often called an open-air museum of Czech architecture.

In the bustling Old Town Square, we’ll pause at one of the city’s most iconic landmarks, the Prague Astronomical Clock. This medieval marvel is one of the top must-see attractions in Prague and a beloved symbol of the city.

Prague Highlights: Charles Bridge, Lesser Town & Prague Castle

From there, we’ll step into the Lesser Town and admire the Baroque beauty of the Church of St. Nicholas, once used as a Cold War spy tower. Finally, we’ll climb to the majestic Prague Castle, the largest castle complex in the world, and an absolute must-see in Prague. This tour covers the castle exteriors, but if you’d like a more in-depth experience, we can arrange a separate interior tour – allow at least three hours for that adventure.

Enjoy a Taste of Czech Cuisine

After exploring the city’s landmarks, it’s time to refuel. We’ll pause at a hidden café for a sweet treat before sitting down to a hearty Czech lunch at a historic restaurant that’s been serving locals since the days when Charles Bridge was first built. From classic Czech food like goulash or svíčková to vegetarian favorites, there’s something here for every palate – the perfect way to savor the flavors of Prague alongside its sights.

Optional Vltava River Boat Ride

Want to finish your tour with a little extra magic? Let us know, and we can arrange an optional boat ride on the Vltava River. Aboard a 19th-century-style boat, you’ll sip a drink as the city’s skyline drifts by – a serene and scenic finale to your day of exploring Prague highlights and hidden corners.

Frequently Asked Questions About This Prague City Tour

If you love history, architecture, and wandering cobblestone streets at your own pace, this Prague city tour is perfect for you!

If you’re comfortable walking up to 10,000 steps over the course of a few hours, you’ll be just fine. That said, this is a private tour — so if that sounds like too much, we can easily adjust the route or even arrange Uber rides between key stops (at your expense). Just let us know in advance so we can plan everything for your comfort.

Absolutely! This tour is designed to be fully adaptable. We’ll plan a route that works best for your group — whether that means shorter distances, more breaks, or quieter spots for kids. We’ve hosted everything from multigenerational families to couples with strollers, and we’re happy to make it work for you.

Please note: this walking tour is not wheelchair accessible, due to Prague’s cobblestones, narrow passages, and steep inclines. If someone in your group uses a wheelchair or needs full accessibility, we recommend our Prague by Car Tour — a comfortable, fully accessible alternative.

Comfortable shoes are essential — Prague’s cobblestones are beautiful but not kind to high heels. Dress for the weather and consider bringing an umbrella or raincoat just in case. We run our tours rain or shine, and your guide will always adjust the route if needed to keep things safe and enjoyable. A refillable water bottle and your camera are also great to have on hand. All public transport tickets are included, but we recommend bringing coins for public bathrooms.

Yes! Lunch is part of the experience, and you’ll be able to choose from four different main dishes, which usually allows us to accommodate vegetarians, gluten-free diets, and most minor allergies.

Please note: none of the available options are vegan, as traditional Czech cuisine relies heavily on meat and dairy, and vegan alternatives are not offered by our restaurant partner.

This tour covers the Prague Castle complex from the outside, including the courtyards and the views over the city. Going inside the individual buildings needs considerably more time, so we run that as a separate tour — allow at least three hours for it. If you’d like to add an interior visit to your day, let us know when booking and we’ll arrange it.

The boat cruise lasts about 45 minutes, but with the boarding and a drink on board, you can count on 1 hour. There are no set departure times; the boats go every 15-20 minutes. It’s a lovely way to end the tour — especially after a day on your feet. You’ll enjoy scenic views of the city’s skyline from the water, with a relaxed atmosphere and a chance to see Prague from a different angle.
