Admire its soaring Neo-Gothic façade, delicate frescoes, and ornate Baroque interior.
Since Kutná Hora was built on silver, no visit would be complete without learning about the medieval technologies of mining and minting. If you’re up for an adventure, descend into a 250-meter-long medieval mine shaft to see how silver was extracted centuries ago. Open from April to October, this immersive experience is not for the faint of heart, but it’s one of the most fascinating things to do in Kutná Hora. Comfortable walking shoes are best for exploring Kutná Hora’s streets and church interiors. Bring weather-appropriate clothing, a camera, and a water bottle. In summer, sunscreen is a good idea; in winter, bring an extra sweater – you can always leave it in the car if it’s too much.
